08:00 a.m. “History Proves Chiropractic” 2 CEU. An historical look at approaches to the treatment of Poliomyelitis emphasizing the chiropractic approach and its application to modern neuropathic disease (with 1940's Chiropractic Video).
Chiropractors have never been given the rightful credit that they deserve for developing treatment protocols for neuropathic disease in the early 1900’s. These protocols were used extensively during the polio epidemic of the middle part of the last century. While “Sister Kenney” is often credited with developing these or similar protocols, and sometimes referred to as the “Mother of Physical Therapy”, one does not have to dig very deeply to see that it was, in fact, the chiropractic profession that has been cheated out of receiving credit for this discovery. Dr. Ferezy will “set the record straight” using facts verified by video, newspaper articles and referenced journal articles.

Dr. Ferezy was the first chiropractor who published correct information in the chiropractic literature about this association (1988). This presentation begins with “Chiropractic in the news, and moves through anatomy and hemodynamics of the brain, patients at risk, recognition of stroke, a plan of action, perspective on the issue and thoughts on potential new ways to determine “at risk” patients.
