ABOUT OUR FACULTY
J. Donald Dishman, DC has taught electrodiagnostics for over twenty years to Doctors throughout the US. He is a Fellow of the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology, and currently Professor of Anatomy and Director of Research at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. Dr. Dishman has published extensively in many prestigious international jourtnals. He practices electrodiagnostics on referral from physicians in Central Florida and Western New York and maintains a research laboratory at Palmer Florida in which investigations evaluating the neurophysiological effects of spinal manipulation are performed.
Joseph S. Ferezy, DC is a graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic (NWCC). He completed his residency at NWCC, where he later served as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Ferezy is a Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology, an award winning scientific paper author, and editor of a chiropractic textbook, “The Chiropractic Neurological Examination”. Dr. Ferezy lectures extensively, primarily offering continuing education in neurology. He is the current President of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology and Executive Director of the International Board of Chiropractic Specialties.
David Marcarian, MA is founder and president of Precision Biometrics which supplies and manufactures the MyoVision sEMG and Thermoglide systems. Mr. Marcarian holds a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's in Psychophysiology through the NASA-University Program. His master's thesis, titled “An Electromyographic Analysis of Muscle Fatigue in a Flight Simulation: A Comparison of Isometric and Isotonic Controllers” is still cited by current studies as the most relevant research in the field even though it was published in 1986.
Todd Peterson, DO is a native of Des Moines and he completed his undergraduate education at Bethel University and medical education at Des Moines University. He did his residency at Michigan State University’s St. John Providence Health, where he became chief resident. He is completed his Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Southern Illinois University, Springfield, IL. Dr. Peterson specializes in joint replacements, sports medicine, and orthopaedic trauma. He was trained in multiple approaches to the hip, including Anterior Approach Total Hip Arthroplasty. He has also been trained in robotic hip and knee replacement. His research interests include operating room efficiency, patient safety, infection control, and low cost medical care.
Dawn Schissel, MD - currently practices medicine in the area of Family Practice at Jordan Creek Family Medicine located at the Plaza at Jordan Creek. Dr. Schissel's undergraduate degree and Medical School degree were obtained at the University of Minnesota. Her residency was done at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Formerly she was a Staff Physician at Broadlawns Medical Center for 14 years. Dr. Schissel is a member of the board of the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians and has won teaching awards from Des Moines University and Broadlawns Family Practice Residency Program. Her primary Professional Interests are Women's Health and Preventative Medicine.
Gregory Yanish, MD received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and moved on to complete his general surgery residency at St. Joseph’s Mercy Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac, MI. His Orthopedic Hand Fellowship was completed at the University of Massachusetts in Worchester, MA. He is Board Certified in general surgery and Surgery of the Hand. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Yanish also specializes in minimally invasive surgery including endoscopic carpal tunnel release, endoscopic cubital tunnel release, Tenex fast procedure for tennis elbow and PRP injections. Professional affiliations include: American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons.
